RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2016 | NEW COVENT GARDEN FLOWER MARKET’S EXHIBIT – BEHIND EVERY GREAT FLORIST : PART 1

Posted by Dinh Nghia Tran on

I’m delighted this morning to reveal New Covent Garden Flower Market‘s highly anticipated secret stand design at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, called Behind Every Great Florist!

You may remember that I’ve already shared an illustration of one side of the exhibit with you, a wall of black Market-style buckets, each densely packed with flowers and foliage.

Well, on the other side, merging from the wall of buckets, flowers erupt into a wonderful riot of colour, with tiers of floral tapestry forming the iconic portrait of HM the Queen…a tribute on her 90th birthday.

Designed by Veevers Carter, it features hydrangeas, delphiniums, gladioli, clematis, sweet peas, anemones, lilac, carnations, lisianthus, gentians, flag iris, cymbidium orchids, gerberas, sweet williams, bouvardia, roses, arum lilies, chrysanthemums, snapdragons, ranunculus, alstroemeria, hyacinths, freesias, phlox and mokara orchids!

Pictured below is Ming Veevers Carter putting the finishing touches to the design.

When I’m at the show today, I plan to take lots more photographs to share with you, here on Flowerona.
