It’s turning out to be a very memorable week as I have yet more exciting news to share with you today. New Covent Garden Flower Market has launched its first ever official video!
You may have seen or heard me mention on social media that things have been a little hectic ‘behind the scenes’ on Flowerona lately? Well, that’s because the very talented Duncan McCabe fromMcQueens and I have been involved in creating the video. Duncan directed, filmed and edited the video and I produced and introduce it.
The video not only features many high profile florists and customers of the Flower Market talking about their experiences with and love for the Market, but also shines the spotlight on a number of the Market traders.
FLORISTS
The florists featured are Kally Ellis | McQueens. Shane Connolly | Shane Connolly & Co, Simon Lycett | Simon J. Lycett Ltd, Jessica Simmonds & Chikae Okishima-Howland | Okishima & Simmonds, Kristina Cousen | The Blacksmith’s Daughter and Nik Southern | Grace & Thorn.
TRADERS
And the Market traders are Graeme Diplock | Zest Flowers, Dennis Edwards | Dennis Edwards Flowers, Dean Knight | Quality Plants, Bryan Porter | Porters Foliage and Grant Wild |C Best.
#BEHINDEVERYGREATFLORIST
The video marks the start of a wider campaign for the Flower Market entitled ‘Behind every great florist’ ( #BehindEveryGreatFlorist) ahead of its RHS Chelsea Flower Show debut next week, under the same theme. The aim of the campaign, which will be played out over the Flower Market’s social media ahead of and throughout Chelsea week, is to highlight the deep-seated bond between the flower market and its customers, London’s independent florists. The Flower Market supplies 75% of London’s florists, supporting them in the task of flowering London every single day.
Alastair Owen, Communications Manager for New Covent Garden Market, said: “We know that some new florists and customers to the market may find the Flower Market a little intimidating at first. With this video, we want to show that the market is full of wonderful, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable wholesalers who have a deep professional, as well as a personal, relationship with the florists that they supply.”
